Text – The Log Book
One of The Crow’s Nest’s most valuable possessions is quite possibly the guest books the club has been using since it opened. They record the names of the Officers who visited the club, and the time of their visits. The earliest books record the war years, and the comings and goings of many of the original members. Some never returned, perishing in the Atlantic crossings of the Convoys on which they served. For many of these men, the Crows Nest represents the last port of call, and some of the happiest times of their too short lives.
Below you can view one of The Crow’s Nest’s Guestbooks. This document was prepared as a volunteer effort headed by Paul Sampson in December of 2004, and is a record of the visitors to the club from 1953-1967. For instructions on how to view the log book, scroll to the bottom of this page.
